The International School of
Hyderabad is a secular school, which serves the expatriate community
of Hyderabad. Under Indian Government regulations the school can
only enrol foreign national and non-resident Indian students.
International School of Hyderabad is located in Banjara Hills in
the city of Hyderabad. It has eight classrooms, a library, art room,
music room, computer lab, science lab, offices and storage areas.
Located on the site is a tennis court, basketball court, large gym
and indoor squash court. The school also has access to playing fields
and a swimming pool at its major sponsor's facility.
The school caters for classes from nursery (three year olds) through
to Year 12 (17 year olds). It follows the British National Curriculum.
The broad and balanced curriculum ensures that children are able
to adjust to different systems of education when they return to
their own countries or move to other international schools.
The medium of instruction is English. French and Spanish are offered
as foreign languages. Hindi is offered as an extra-curricular activity.
International School of Hyderabad also offers an independent study
facility through the University of Nebraska for those students wishing
to study year 9,10,11 & 12 of the American High School diploma.
Tutors and study hall facilities are made available to students
who undertake this form of study.
Classes are kept to a 10:1 ratio to ensure pupils' individual needs
can be addressed.
The staff are fully qualified and experienced teachers. The school
year at International School of Hyderabad runs from September to
June with July and August being the main vacation period.
The International School of Hyderabad is a non-profit school, sponsored
and managed by ICRISAT, an International Crop Research Institute
for the Semi-Arid Tropic with headquarters in Hyderabad. ISH serves
the ICRISAT community, the transient expatriate and Indian community
of Hyderabad. ISH is located in Banjara Hills in the city centre
of Hyderabad, offering an academic programme for three year olds
in Reception/KG through to Grade 12, 18 year olds. It has a library,
art room, music room, computer lab, science laboratory. Located
on the site are a tennis court, basketball court, large gym and
indoor squash court. The school also has access to playing fields
and a swimming pool at its major sponsor's facility. ISH offers
an international curriculum modelled on the English National Curriculum
in Grades 1 to 10, leading to the IGCSE Cambridge University exam.

Grades 11 and 12 ISH follows the International Baccalaureate Diploma
Programme (IBDP). The medium of instruction is English. French is
offered as foreign language from Grade 1 onwards. The staff is fully
qualified and experienced, many of them worked for many years at
ISH and are very familiar with the school's philosophy and pedagogy.
The school year runs from August to June with July/August and December
being the main vacation periods. The school is also officially recognised
by the UK Department for Education and Skills (DfES) and is a member
of Cambridge International Examinations.
